DEBESMSCAT Institutional Accreditation Formally Commences

The institutional accreditation of the Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT) formally commenced today, October 6, with the opening program attended by CHED Commissioner and DEBESMSMSCAT Board of Trustees Chair Hon. Desiderio R. Apag III, who expressed his full support for the institution’s accreditation journey.

The three-day assessment is being conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) team led by Dr. Milabel Enriquez-Ho, AACCUP Executive Director and Team Coordinator. Joining the team are Dr. Anthony M. Penaso of Bohol Island State University for Governance and Management; Dr. Erwin P. Lacanlale of Tarlac State University for Teaching, Learning and Evaluation and Faculty and Staff; Dr. Ronald Allan S. Mabunga of Philippine Normal University for Research, Extension, Consultancy and Linkages; Dr. Celso G. Zara of Batangas State University for Infrastructure and Other Learning Resources and QA Culture; Dr. Liza M. Tamargo of Ifugao State University for Support to Students and Library; and Dr. Charlie P. Nacario of Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology as observer.

The AACCUP team was formally welcomed by SUC President III Dr. Arnel B. Millesca, together with DEBESMSCAT officials, faculty members, students, and personnel supporting the accreditation activities.

The assessment includes the review of institutional documents and practices, interviews and consultations with stakeholders, and validation of the college’s facilities, programs, services, and quality assurance mechanisms.

The institutional accreditation will run until October 8, marking another significant milestone in DEBESMSCAT’s continuing pursuit of academic excellence and its bid for universityhood.
