Advancing Digital Governance in Higher Education

The Eulogio "Amang" Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST), Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA), and Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) successfully convened their respective 3rd Quarter Regular Governing Board Meetings, chaired by CHED Commissioner Desiderio R. Apag III.

The meetings provided a productive and collaborative platform for the discussion and deliberation of key matters concerning institutional governance, administration, policy, and organizational development. The proceedings reflected the continued commitment of the participating State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) to strengthening governance practices and advancing institutional excellence.

As part of this ongoing effort, the SUCs under the Office of Commissioner Apag III are embracing digital transformation in board governance by implementing the e-Agenda System. The system enables board members to securely and conveniently access meeting agendas, supporting documents, and other relevant materials anytime and wherever they are needed.

The digitalization of board processes contributes to a more efficient, organized, transparent, and responsive governance system, while reducing reliance on traditional paper-based processes. More importantly, it demonstrates how technology can be strategically utilized to improve institutional processes and strengthen decision-making in higher education.

This initiative forms part of Commissioner Apag III’s continuing efforts to advance digital and paperless governance, transforming conventional board processes into more accessible, streamlined, and technology-enabled systems that respond to the evolving needs of SUCs and their stakeholders.
